DEATHS Margaret Elizabeth Anderson BARNWELL Miss Margaret Elizabeth Anderson, 91, formerly of Dunbarton, SC, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009. Miss Margaret was born February 14, 1917, in Dunbarton, SC. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Seabrook and Leonora Cave Anderson.

She retired after 57 years' service as office manager for F.H. Dicks Company. She served as a volunteer with the Barnwell County Chapter of the American Red Cross for a number of years. She served as secretary and treasurer of the Dunbarton Reunion for fifty years and was a member of Barnwell First Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m.

Mary Thomas Collins, 66, widow of Don L. Collins, died Sunday, February 8, 2009. at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence after an illness. She was born June 8, 1942, in Marion County, a daughter of the late N.J. and Margaret Walker Thomas.

Mrs. Collins was a homemaker and a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church. Born in Swansea, April 15, 1927, he was a son of the late Joseph and Florence Heron Crim. He retired from Pet Dairy after working there for more than 40 years. Mr. Crim lived his entire adult life in the Olympia area of Columbia and was known by many of the city's residents. Mr.

Crim loved riding his bicycle all round the city and continued riding it until within six months of his death. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things of life and was loved by many. Some of the special friends who (in addition to family members) helped look after and care for him include Doyle and Brenda Jayco, Jim Jayco, Romessa Windham, Louise Wages, Kelly and Mike Anderson, Bill Self, Bobby Giles, and their familes. She was a teacher at Southside Middle School for over 20 years and had also taught in North Carolina Schools. She was an avid reader, loved hiking, camping and loved the mountains. Pat was born December 21, 1932, in Florala, Alabama, the daughter of M.D. and Thelma Bell. Pat was married to Jay McIntosh of Mobile, Alabama, from 1958 until his death in March 2008.

They have two children, Brian McIntosh of Cape Carteret, North Carolina, and Duncan McIntosh of Columbia. In addition to her children, Pat is survived by her brother, Maurice D. Bell, Jr. of Mobile, Alabama, sisterin-law, Anne McIntosh of Enterprise, Alabama, cousin, Greg King of Savannah, Georgia, daughters-in-law, Laurie and Lisa McIntosh, grandchildren, Dun, Ike and Kirk McIntosh and Steven Fall, and many nieces and nephews. Pat attended Montevallo College before her marriage to Jay.

She moved to Greenville, South Carolina, in 1972 and became the first female real estate agent with the C. Dan Joyner Co. She was one of the top agents with the company for over 25 years. Pat was an outstanding cook, and had a passion for books. She was devoted to her family, grandchildren, and friends, and left the world a better place than she found it.

Robert Lee Outlaw COLUMBIA Mr. Robert L. "Bob" Outlaw, 81, of Columbia, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009. Born April: 22, 1927, in Kershaw County, SC, he was a son of the late Murdic Ellis and Mary Ann Self Outlaw. He was the retired owner of Folly Road Shell Station and was also retired from the State of South Carolina.

Bob was a Noble at Jamil Temple, a Master Mason at Forest Acres Lodge a thirty-second degree member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbia and a member of New Heights Church. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Sharpe Outlaw; son, Richard (Melissa) Outlaw of Irmo; daughters, Carolyn (David) Mitchell, Gwen Franklin (Ray) Massengale, all of Columbia; grandchildren, David (Kelly), Jason, Robert, Brian (Frances), Beth (Matt), Jennifer, and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Graham, A Ali, Keith and Bailee. Bob was preceded in death by a son, Robert Keith Outlaw; brothers, Henry, Bill and Murdic L. Outlaw; sisters, Beulah Parker, Janie Outlaw, Ola Belle Hunter, Corrie Watkins and Isabelle Truesdale. Ratliff, age 89, died Sunday, February 8, 2009. Graveside services will 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009, in Chesterfield Cemetery. Mr. Ratliff was born December 8, 1919, in Mt.

Croghan, SC, a son of the late James Hamer and Ruth Baker Ratliff. He was a 1937 graduate of Chesterfield High School. Stanley was former owner and operator of the Radio and TV Center. He retired as Director of Maintenance with Chesterfield County Memorial Hospital and Chesterfield General Hospital with 25 years of service. Mr.

Ratliff was a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and served in Australia and New Guinea as an Air Force Warehouse Superintendent. He was awarded the Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal with Bronze Star. Stanley was a member of the Chesterfield American Legion Post 74 and Chesterfield Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed riding and looking at wildlife.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Leaird Ratliff; two brothers, Wilson B. Ratliff, and James H. Ratliff, three sisters, Dorothy Ratliff, Mary Ruth Ratliff, and Gloria R. Vernon; and a niece, Alice Ratliff Lloyd. Survivors: 2 nieces: Penny Vernon of Chesterfield, SC, and Nancy Kindred of Montgomery, AL, 3 nephews: Wilson B.

Ratliff, Jr. of Simpsonville, SC, James M. Ratliff of Greensboro, NC, and Jack S. "Jay" Vernon, Jr. of Wadesboro, NC; also several great and great-great nieces and nephews; special friends and neighbor: Peg Griggs and son Mitch Griggs.
