I would pay at least $10 to read an extensive interview with one (1) of Ari Aster’s nuclear family members.

Here’s my impression of the audience reaction Ari Aster is aiming for 100% of the time: “Oh dear! This Ari Aster has shocked me to my very core! How dreadful for me that I can neither predict nor tolerate his twisted jester’s vision... for I suspect that in his funhouse mirror there lies a certain truth.”

A lot of people in the Letterboxd reviews of this are saying that Ari Aster's family must be crazy as if this isn't very clearly the work of a middle class kid who's definitely never had anything even remotely bad happen to him in his entire life.

This was like a longer version of one of those f*cked up Adult Swim things that air randomly at 2AM.

Whenever I see an Ari Aster film, I want to die, but then when it's over, I want to LIVE.
I'm sorry to whatever screwed you up as a kid, Ari, but the world thanks you for being honest and for channeling that pain into something real, raw, and cathartic.
