What has Taylor said about The Tortured Poets Department?

Taylor Swift posted a message about the album last night.

“The Tortured Poets Department,” she wrote.

“An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time – one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure.

“This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed.

“And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page.

“Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it. And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry.”

Is 'The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived' about Joe Alwyn?

Fans believe the savagely titled song, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, from Taylor Swift's new album is about her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn – with some lyrics suggesting he cheated and broke her heart.

Taylor and Joe, who started dating in 2016, shocked fans when their relationship came to an abrupt end last year.

The song includes the scathing words: “And you’ll confess why you did it . . . And I’ll say good riddance. ’Cos it wasn’t sexy once it wasn’t forbidden.

“You didn’t measure up in any measure of a man. I would have died for your sins but instead I just died inside.”

Taylor goes on: “You deserve prison, but you won’t get time. You will slide into inboxes and slip through the bars.”

She also jibes: “In plain sight you hid but you are what you did. And I’ll forget you, but I’ll never forgive the smallest man who ever lived.”

Shania Twain says Taylor is 'working her butt off'

Hitmaker Shania Twain has praised Taylor Swift for "working her butt off in a new interview with Haute Living Magazine.

"I wouldn’t say I’m proud of anything I’ve done. Pride is not a great word for me, because I don’t think you can take credit for creative gifts if you were born with them; you can only take credit for developing them.

"What I would say I’m proud of is that I had the courage to take risks, that I could be so hard-working and dedicated.

"That girl [Taylor] is working her butt off. She is living an exhausting existence, but she’d dedicated and committed to herself, to her art, and her work."

Travis explains why he and Taylor watched from the crowd

Travis explained his and Taylor's decision on this week's New Heights episode, saying that attending a concert from in front of the stage offers a superior experience.

"I expected you guys to be backstage with the musicians," Travis's brother Jason said in the podcast. "But it seemed like you guys were in the crowd."

"I like to see it from the fans' perspective," Travis replied. "Like the people that actually, like, I'm a fan of music, I'm a fan of live shows. I want to see it from the front. We probably could have finessed it that way, but I think it's just that much more of an experience if you're in the pit; if you're in the madness with all the fans."

Many more expected to 'fall victim' to scams

Swift's global Eras Tour has had a profound effect on a wide range of people and things. It has caused diplomatic tensions in Singapore, angered fans to file a lawsuit against Ticketmaster, and significant benefits for the tourism industry, local governments, and even food charities.

The highest-grossing tour ever began in the United States in March 2023 and will end in December of the same year. In June, Swift will play the first of 15 shows in the UK.

Desperate fans are more likely to turn to resale sites and social media in search of tickets now that all UK dates have sold out.

Lloyd Bank expects “many more fans fall victim to ticket scams in the coming weeks and months."
