There is just something so super cool about Dinosaurs. Maybe its how old they are or maybe it’s the size. Maybe it’s like they are real monsters who can look at. No matter what you love about Dinosaurs…they are a little boy’s dream come true for a birthday party!!

When it comes to styling a party…it amazes me how many awesome-sauce dinosaur birthday party decorations you can create. Being clever with dinosaurs is so easy and sure to be a crowd pleaser.
The party I’m sharing today was styled by the ever clever and super sweet Sarina from Joy in the Commonplace. She has awesome ideas for styling parties and a budget and how to create adorable kid friendly parties.

I think the dinosaur footprint cut outs going up the wooden backdrop is my favorite detail of the whole party. So often I see people stressing over big elaborate backdrops…it’s just not necessary.
A nice stained piece of wood and a few inexpensive pieces of paper and this backdrop is off the chain! Coming up with amazing dinosaur birthday party decorations and throwing a gorgeous party DOES NOT have to cost you an arm and a leg!!!
Using your kids toys in the decor is also a great way to have inexpensive dinosaur birthday party decorations. Firstly…if you are choosing a theme for you child, they probably HAVE several of those toys in their rooms.
This is especially true if you are picking a theme because you child loves dinosaurs or penguins or monkeys. Grabbing some of those beloved toys and adding them to your tablescape gives your party character AND saves you from extra spending on your party budget!!
Another detail I love is the “grasslike” cupcakes. I love using food to replicate nature. I light layer of green frosting instead of the traditional dollop on top and presto…you have a theme fitting cupcake!
Adorable! These wood grain paper straws are also super adorable details that add to the overall rustic feel of the party.
The candy in a party are also fun ways to add a little spark to your design without blowing your budget. Dinosaur gummies are perfect in little cellophane bags for party favors. So much fun!!!
I absolutely adore this cute backdrop that Sarina made for the party and inclusion of wood pieces as tree stumps and greenery throughout gives it such a beautiful, organic feel. Perfection!!

This is a great idea for a birthday party. With a birthday party, usually people are so stressed out, But if there is an idea alrady presented it may make it easier for parents to plan one out for their kids.

I adore your rustic wood backdrop! This is such a great theme. I’m planning to do a dinosaur party for my son this summer but it’s gonna be modern. I’m more comfortable with rustic so we’ll see how it goes! : )
