CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded to various calls on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Here is a snapshot of those cases.
2:54 AM | S BRIDGE ST, CHILLICOTHE No Tail Lights/License Plate Light On 06/06/2024, I Deputy Rush was traveling on Three Locks Rd near S Bridge Street located in Ross County, Ohio, and observed a vehicle traveling northbound toward S Bridge with an equipment violation. Traffic stop initiated.
3:53 AM | HARRIS STATION RD, CHILLICOTHE Disorderly Conduct On June 6, 2024, Deputy O’Bomsawin was dispatched to a residence on Harris Station Road, in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Deputy O’Bomsawin made contact with the complainant, who stated that her husband was threatening her.
5:51 AM | US 35 Speeding – 70MPH (Freeway Outside Urban Area) On 06/06/2024, I Deputy Stanley was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of US-35. I initiated a traffic stop which resulted in a citation issued for 84 mph in a 70 mph zone.
6:40 AM | CO RD 550, FRANKFORT Speed Limits – Assured Clear Distance On 06/06/2024, I Deputy Stanley was conducting speed enforcement in the area of CR-550 in Ross County. I initiated a traffic stop which resulted in a citation being issued for 40 mph in a 25 mph zone.

10:15 AM | FRANKFORT CLARKSBURG PIKE, FRANKFORT Fail To File For Annual Reg.; DUS – Child Support/Unpaid Fines; Drug Paraphernalia; Warrant On 06/06/2024, I Deputy Stanley was dispatched to Frankfort Clarksburg Pike in Ross County in reference to a male subject who had a warrant.
11:07 AM | MINGO RD, CHILLICOTHE Theft – Without Consent On 06/06/2024, I Deputy Speakman was dispatched to 1114 Mingo Rd in regards to a theft. Upon arrival, I made contact with Pearl Houser. He said that he let his nephew (Austin Houser) move in with him, and he is known for theft. He said that he believes Austin took $1500 to $2000 from him.

11:49 AM | DAWSON ST, ADELPHI Improper Parking (Signs Posted) I was out at 19180 Dawson St. in Adelphi in reference to a parking complaint.
11:56 AM | EASTERN AVE, CHILLICOTHE Non Criminal Abandon junk motor vehicle.
1:34 PM | BROWN AVE, CHILLICOTHE I was dispatched to 68 Brown Ave on a complaint.
2:03 PM | CR 550, FRANKFORT Disorderly Conduct I was dispatched to 3658 County Rd. 550 in reference to a neighbor complaint.
2:26 PM | N SECOND ST, FRANKFORT Theft – Deception – Shoplifting I was dispatched to the Dollar General Store in Ross County, Frankfort, Ohio, in reference to a shoplifting complaint.
2:30 PM | W MAIN ST, BAINBRIDGE Criminal Trespass On 06/06/2024, I Deputy Speakman was dispatched to 116 W Main St in regards to a trespass. Upon arrival, I located the trailer Michael Maughmer was allegedly inside of with an open door.

3:34 PM | N PAINT ST, CHILLICOTHE Menacing On this date, I spoke with a subject to document possible threats made by an inmate residing in the Ross County Jail. Case continues.
3:45 PM | BLAIN HWY, WAVERLY Assault On 06/06/2024, I Deputy Speakman was dispatched to 1020 Blain Hwy in regards to an assault. Upon arrival, I made contact with Michael Murray. I asked him what had happened. He said he was at Barker’s Junk Yard and just got done selling some scrap. He said he was walking back to his truck and out of nowhere James Ryan Vaughn came up behind him and just started hitting him.
6:04 PM | MEADOWLARK DR, CHILLICOTHE Non Criminal On 06/06/2024, Dep. Hempstead was dispatched to the Law Enforcement Complex in reference to a possible scam situation. An investigation was conducted.
6:36 PM | BAINBRIDGE Non Criminal On 06/06/2024, Deputies Rush and O’Bomsawin were dispatched to SR 41 located in Ross County, Ohio, for a Theft Complaint. Investigation started.
6:51 PM | LIBERTY HILL RD, CHILLICOTHE Non Criminal On 06/06/2024, I Deputy Rush was dispatched to Liberty Hill Rd located in Ross County, Ohio, for an Unruly Juvenile complaint. Investigation started.
7:39 PM | BLUE LICK RD, LONDONDERRY Endangering Children – Create Substantial Risk of Harm On 06/06/2024, Dep. Hempstead was dispatched to a residence on Blue Lick Road in reference to a female with altered mental status attempting to harm her children.
9:39 PM | N SECOND ST, FRANKFORT Non Criminal On June 6, 2024, Deputy O’Bomsawin was dispatched to the Dollar General in Frankfort, in reference to a juvenile complaint. Upon arrival, Deputy O’Bomsawin made contact with the complainant, who stated that there was a young child roaming around the area of the store without any adult supervision.
