A SCARCE 12-BORE BREECH PRESSURE TESTING BOLT ACTION GUN, serial no. 9666, utilising a Model 98 Mauser bolt action which is mated to a 12-bore nitro proofed barrel, it is then modified to facilitate a pressure transmission port to the copper test piece. Prior to and after test firing the copper plug is measured for length. The difference enables the calculation of the pressure induced in the breech by the cartridge under test.
