Now, as for the cake…it is one of the best cakes I’ve had! The brown sugar really makes it pop giving it a delicious sweet flavor and with the added candy corn makes it over the top.

You combine all the ingredients in the jar, add in melted butter, milk, and eggs. It couldn’t be any easier.

For the colored sugar you can buy it or color it yourself using regular food coloring drops. Don’t use gel food coloring, it’s clumps.

To get orange sugar mix 6 drops of yellow + 2 drops of red=orange. Alternativly, you can add white sugar to the cake batter mixture and add yellow and red food coloring to the cake batter to get orange.

I’ve made some candy corn recipe tags for you to attach to the jar that tell them how to prepare the cake. I think they are so cute.

Feel free to decorate the jar with scrapbook paper, ribbon or stickers. It’s fun making the jar pretty!

And I have a secret on where you can find a lot of cute jars. If you are lucky enough to have a Hobby Lobby in your area, they have an entire section of jars. Use their 40% off coupon or wait until they go on sale and you will for sure be able to find some great deals!

Print them on white cardstock paper then cut out in the shape of a candy corn.
