Recently I have been making an effort to make more foods from scratch rather than buying processed food. As you get older you start to see the difference food can make to your body. So I'm choosing to eat nutritious meals and less processed foods. This is not always possible and not always an option but when I can I make an effort to make it from scratch. So I am coming up with recipes to make it simpler to make recipe ingredients or components from scratch and would like to share with you how simple it can be to be an ingredients household. Use this recipe to make baguettes for crostinis such as our Prosciutto crostini melts, Smoked salmon crostini, or my favorite Breakfast Crostini.

Step 4: Bake: Place risen bread into the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes. Until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool for a few minutes before cutting into it.
Expert tip
Make sure to score the bread after you shape your bread but before the rise. This will ensure that you get a nice beautiful rise on the bread with a precise score. If scored after it may make the bread fall a little, resulting in a bread that isn't as perfectly risen and scored.

Equipment
- Electric mixer with dough hook: Using an electric mixer makes the kneading so much quicker and simpler.
- Parchment paper: Lining a baking sheet onto the baking sheet is a simple way to ensure the bread doesn't stick to the pan as well as quick clean up.
- Baking sheet: A large baking sheet will allow you to bake all the rolls at one time.
Storage
Store baked bread in a bread box or in a linen bread bag or wrapped in a tea towel.
Can I freeze buns?
To freeze place in a gallon freezer bag and make sure to air-tight seal. Freeze for 3 months.

Yeast tips
Store Instant Yeast in the refrigerator to prolong the shelf life. If you put yeast in warm water and it doesn't foam your yeast is no longer active.
